Baptist & Aetna Offer New Whole Health Plan in Memphis

Aetna is partnering with Baptist's Select Health Alliance, a 600-physician network, to offer its Whole Health Plan in the greater Memphis area.

Available to insured employers with 2 to 3,000 employees, the Whole Health Plan provides information to hospitals and physicians that allows them to better manage the cost and quality of the care they provide members of the plan.In addition, the Plan will reward physicians when they reach certain quality of care measures.

Aetna is currently working on a solution for self-insured employers.

"Cristie Upshaw Travis, CEO of the Memphis Business Group on Health, a coalition of employers focused on managing the cost and quality of health benefits, welcomed Baptist’s announcement. Travis said that support for physician practices in transition and reporting clinical and financial results, at the very least to customers, will be key.

“The whole way this gets executed at the end of the day is what really will matter,” Travis said."
