AARP-The Magazine Focuses on Lessons From America's Safest Hospitals

AARP The Magazine - the most widely circulated publication in the world - issued its health-focused issue on April 1, 2013, including a cover story: "Lessons from America's Safest Hospitals."

The article examines how hospitals are actively working to protect their patients, including safe practices in nursing, innovative facility design, and employing new technologies.

The goal of the piece is to make AARP's readership aware of safety hazards present in hospitals and illustrate what the safest hospitals are doing to prevent them.

In addition to the published article, AARP has set up an interactive patient room on its website for readers to learn more about things to look for in the hospital.

The article pushes readers to The Leapfrog Group's Hospital Safety Score website (www.hospitalsafetyscore.org) where you can get a full list of all "A" graded hospitals. You can also download the free mobile app on the site.

Read the article.
